THREE SIMPLE STEPS

How image to prompt works

01

Upload a clear reference

Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP image smaller than 2 MB. Use the original image where possible, with the main subject visible and without large borders or interface elements.

02

Choose a prompt format

Select Midjourney, Flux, Stable Diffusion or a detailed description, then choose English, French or Spanish. Add a short context hint if the object is difficult to identify.

03

Check the visual details

Read the generated prompt and compare it with the photo. Correct any ambiguous object or detail, then copy the prompt into your preferred image generation tool.

PRACTICAL GUIDE

How to get a more useful prompt from an image

Start with a recognizable subject

A clear product photo, interior, landscape or illustration gives the image to prompt converter useful visual information. A small subject inside a busy screenshot can be harder to describe. Crop away unrelated borders before uploading, while keeping the surroundings you want in the prompt.

Use context for ambiguous objects

The optional context field helps explain what the subject is. A hint such as “handmade ceramic vase” or “decorated press-on nails in a display case” is more useful than a long instruction. The description still needs to agree with what is visible; a hint does not guarantee recognition.

Match the prompt to your next step

For Midjourney, keep the main subject at the beginning and follow it with composition, palette, texture and lighting. For Flux, natural sentences can make relationships between objects clearer. For Stable Diffusion, concrete visual phrases are a useful starting point. Make one change at a time when testing the result.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Image to Prompt questions

Can this recover the exact original prompt?

No. The tool creates a new description from visible image details. A photo does not contain enough information to recover the original prompt, model settings, seed or camera setup.

What image formats can I upload?

PNG, JPEG and WebP are supported, up to 2 MB and 20 million pixels. Use a clear image with the subject in focus. Smaller files also take less time to upload.

What if the AI describes an object incorrectly?

Add a short identification hint in Image context and review the result. Similar shapes, small details or unusual products can be confused. Edit the object name before using the prompt.

Can I generate a Midjourney prompt from a photo?

Yes. Select Midjourney under Prompt format. The tool writes a visual brief rather than adding automatic version flags. You choose your image model settings separately.
